Ellis excited about trips

Hampton (Va.) Bethel defensive end Chris Ellis is dying to start his official visits. Luckily, he only has to wait a few more days.
"I can't wait to get started," said the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder. "I have Maryland this weekend and it's about time. It seems like it's been forever since I scheduled these."

Ellis heads off to College Park and things get busier after that.
"After that it's Virginia (Jan. 17), Tennessee (Jan. 20), Virginia Tech (Jan. 24) and NC State (Jan. 31)," he said. "I'm all set to take all these visits, but I'll probably get tired pretty quick. I know I want to take all five if I can."
Has anything changed his thinking of late?
"Not really," he said. "I met up with Xavier Adibi at a basketball tournament where our teams were playing and we talked a bit. I also heard Phillip Brown is off Virginia Tech and likes UVA. I know about that situation, but I'm not sticking my nose in there."
So who leads?
"Right now I like Virginia Tech, Virginia and Tennessee the best," he said. "It's even between those three, but the in state schools probably have an edge based on location. That's why I'm taking my visits."
