Elliot visits Ohio State

Fairfield, Ohio, four-star linebacker Dewey Elliot has made it clear that Ohio State is one of his top teams, despite the Buckeyes not offering a scholarship yet.
But still that didn't stop the 6-foot, 239-pounder from taking an unofficial visit to Columbus last week to check out the football facilities.

"I visited their campus, and I saw their stadium and their locker room," Elliott, the nation's No. 5 inside linebacker, said. "It was great. I like the campus and stuff.
"I like Jim Tressel a lot. I met him in person, and he's a cool person in general. He's just a nice quiet guy. The reason why I like Ohio State is because of their linebackers. The tradition of their linebackers. They're a great team that I've been watching since I can remember."
With offers from Cincinnati, Indiana and Iowa, Elliot is scheduled to visit Cincinnati sometime unofficially sometime here in the next few weeks before the school year starts.
"Cincinnati is closer to home," he said. "My parents want me to stay close to home and I want to, too."
Don't expect a rush decision from Elliot – unless Ohio State officially offers – but if it doesn't soon, he'll take some official visits and make his decision after the season.
Elliot had close to 100 tackles and had two interceptions during his junior season. Elliot was an all-conference, all-city and all-county selection.
"My size, my speed and my aggressiveness make me special," he said. "I plan on using them to help us win state this year and I also wanted to be an all-state linebacker."
