tackles has picked up a pair of new offers in the Southeastern
Conference.
Four-star Buford (Ga.) standout
Trey
Chandler has added Florida and South Carolina to an impressive list of
scholarship offers that already included Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State and
Georgia.
"I like both of them," Chandler said of the Gators and
Gamecocks. "I'm not really picky about anyone right now, so I'm glad to have
some new offers to look at. Florida has a great program, and Lou Holtz is a
tremendous coach."
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound Chandler noted that Auburn,
Clemson and Florida have been the most active recruiters with him in recent
weeks.
"I get something from them about every day," he said.
And how is his list shaping up?
"I really don't have a list, to be honest with you,"
said Chandler, a member of the Rivals.com
Georgia Top
50 team. "Florida State and Georgia are probably
1-2 if I had to say favorites, but I'm still considering a lot of other schools.
I'm wide open."
For the moment, Chandler is eager to get his senior
season under way on Sept. 6. Asked in what ways had he improved since this time
last summer, Chandler said his offseason conditioning and strength program had
helped him become bigger and stronger.
"I'm heavier, more solid," he said. "Last year, I played
some games at around 238-240."
