Anthony "Amp" Hill foremost among those with an eye on the Gators.
"I'm getting ready to go to camp there (Saturday)," said
the 6-foot-2, 195-pound receiver from Jacksonville, Fla. "I'm really interested
in how it's going to be without coach Spurrier down there. They've always had a
great pass offense --- better than really anyone in the nation --- and they've
put a ton of wide receivers in the league, but I don't know if that will
continue now. It'll be something I want to see when I'm down there, and I'll
definitely be watching them a lot this season to see how it goes."
Hill currently lists the Gators first in his top five,
followed by Florida State, LSU, Tennessee and Southern Cal.
"I've pretty much got the same interest in all of them,"
he said. "Number one, they have to have a great offense that I feel like I could
be a featured player in. I want to be somewhere with great tradition. I like the
coaches from all these schools, too."
Hill has previously camped at LSU and Central Florida.
He said Nick Saban & Co. left a big impression on him following his trip to
Baton Rouge.
"They had a Biletnikoff (Award) winner last year," he
said of Josh Reed, "and I feel like I'd have a good chance to win it, too, as
the featured player in their offense.
"I liked coach Saban a lot, his style. I feel like we
formed a pretty good relationship. Plus, they have a good school for
engineering, and that's what I'm looking to go into."
As a junior, Hill (4.47 forty, 37-inch vertical) emerged
as one of Florida's top wide receiver prospects. He caught 56 passes for 816
yards and six touchdowns for First Coast High School.
