The nation’s third-ranked fullback has four schools competing for the final three official visit slots he has open.
“I went to Notre Dame in September, and I’m going to Oklahoma on the 7th of November,” said four-star Norcross (Ga.) fullback Brannan Southerland. “The hard part is deciding the final three. It’s between four schools right now – Georgia, Auburn, Florida State and Florida.”

“It’s kind of going back and forth between them all,” he said. “One day, I think it’s one school, then the next I have someone else in mind. But I’m starting to get a better feel for all the schools, and I’m starting to get more information to help me make my decision. I just can’t name a leader right now.
"I liked Notre Dame a whole lot, and I'm really looking forward to this Oklahoma visit. So that's where I am right now."
Southerland (6-2, 220, 4.5) has taken unofficial visits to Georgia (Alabama game), Florida State (Miami game) and Auburn (USC game). He plans to be at Florida for the Gators’ showdown with the Seminoles on Nov. 22.
“I haven’t had much time to go to any more games,” he said. “I have a little brother who plays little league football, and I don’t want to miss many of those. I’ll be going away and won’t have much more time to see him.”
In seven games this season, Southerland has rushed for almost 500 yards and scored “eight or nine” touchdowns for Greater Atlanta Christian. Defensively, he has “around 80” tackles. He missed one game due to a virus and flu-like symptoms. Last week was one of his best games, rushing for more than 100 yards and three scores on only four carries.
As a junior he rushed for 550 yards and recorded 143 tackles at linebacker.
Academically, he carries a 3.2 GPA and has scored a 1080 on the SAT.
