Plenty of rumors regarding where Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier quarterback Rob Schoenhoft will end up have been swirling around for months. The rumors will come to an end soon as Schoenhoft expects to make his decision within the next few weeks.
The 6-foot-6, 227-pound Schoenhoft has been heavily recruited and lists his top schools as Michigan State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida and LSU. The pro-style quarterback doesn’t have a leader at this point as he continues to search for the school that would best fit him on the depth chart.
“I’m looking to commit to a school with great football, academics, and tradition; somewhere where I’ll be able to play early in my collegiate career.”
Schoenhoft currently has offers from all of his top schools, with the exception being Notre Dame. He’ll start a stretch in which he’ll camp at each of his top schools, starting with Michigan State today, hoping to get an idea of which quarterback depth chart will suit him best. Schoenhoft certainly knows what attributes he’ll bring to the school he chooses.
“I’m a leader on and off the field who loves to play. I’ve yet to see someone with a stronger arm, and I haven’t seen anybody complete a pass I can’t make. I’m not the fastest quarterback around, but I have the ability to run defenders over.”
Schoenhoft is eager to play at a top-flight school where there will be an increased level of competition. Right now, it’s a process to see where he’ll best fit in, somewhere where he can actively play the game he loves.
As a junior, the big signal caller threw for 12 touchdowns against four interceptions and amassed 1,200 yards.
