Eisworth ready for Oxford

Grand Prairie (Texas) South Grand Prairie safety Greg Eisworth committed to the Ole Miss Rebels after an April visit to Oxford.
The Rebels were No. 1 on his list going into the visit, and the visit only confirmed his thoughts. So soon after the visit, he made the call, and he has not wavered.

"Well, right now I'm still pretty strong," Eisworth said. "I kind of told the coaches from the beginning I'm a man of my word and being committed there's a small chance I would decommit and go to a different school. I kind of told other colleges the same thing so they kind of backed off a little bit."
His commitment has not stopped all of the attention. Texas recently offered a scholarship, but he let the Longhorns know he was firm in his college choice. Michigan and Texas Tech have also shown significant interest in the past. However, there were several reasons why the Rebel program jumped to the top of his list, and several reasons the Rebels remain there today.
"As far as Ole Miss, the reason why I picked them was they were a little different than other colleges in their approach to me and what their program is about and what their coaches strive for," Eisworth said. "It's not just success on the field but success off the field as far as becoming a man and being a great father and things like that. I saw that from the beginning. And just that they make you feel at home and you know it is SEC. So I put all the pieces together and I felt that was the place for me."
Eisworth, who is also a standout quarterback at South Grand Prairie, is being recruited mainly as a safety by the Rebels and he likes what he has seen from the Rebel program in 2015.
"They're just a great team," Eisworth said. "Last week they kind of came out flat a little bit. After talking to their coaches about it they said it kind of humbled them again. But as a team I could tell they're a family and they play together and I like their defense and how their defense works. They have a pretty good d-line and they rotate their DBs around a lot and there's a lot of versatility. From what I've seen so far this year I'm really liking it."
He has not had a chance to visit this fall, but he plans to take an unofficial visit on October 24 for the Rebels match-up with Texas A&M. Then he will return to Ole Miss on November 7 for his official visit.
Eisworth plans to graduate early and enroll at Ole Miss in January. As a senior in 2015, he has rushed for 771 yards and 9 touchdowns on 115 carries and completed 49 of 96 passes for 771 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He has also been a standout on the defensive side of the ball, and South Grand Prairie is off to a strong 5-1 start.
