Ehrmann updates recruitment

It's been nearly two months since we last heard from Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School linebacker Joey Ehrmann. The 6-foot-3, 197-pounder has taken a couple of visits this summer. Where did Ehrmann go?
"I took an unofficial to Duke and Wake Forest at the end of July," he said. "Duke was nice. I took a tour of the facilities and then spent the night with one of my former teammates. The defensive coaches were on break, but I did get to talk to coach Roof. He was just asking what he could do to make me a Blue Devil. Overall Duke was great; my only thing with them is if they can win.

"Right before the Duke visit was Wake Forest. I liked them a lot too. I really liked the coaches there. They seemed like very nice guys that you can talk to whenever you want. Coach Grobe wasn't there, but I did talk to the defensive coordinator who said they are looking at me for two positions, weakside linebacker or defensive end. As for an offer, they haven't yet but need to look at more film."
Currently the three-star prospect holds three offers from Duke, Iowa and Syracuse. One other school showing interest right now is Boston College.
"I sent a tape up to them and they said they loved it," he said. "I do want to get up there for a visit sometime."
Without any favorites, what is Ehrmann looking for in a college?
"I definitely want to go to a bowl game while I'm at the school," he said. "I don't care if the college is big or small; I just want a great system I can play to the best of my abilities in. I want a system that fits the kind of player I am, a great head coach and somewhere I can get my degree."
As for a decision, the No. 12 prospect in Maryland plans to hold off for awhile.
"I think I'll put it off until after the season," he said. "That's when I'll take my officials and hopefully gain more interest."
Ehrmann and Gilman School kick off two-a-days on August 13th.
