Ehrmann up to three scholies

In the past month, 6-foot-3, 197-pound linebacker Joey Ehrmann has acquired three scholarships. The Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School prospect has pulled in offers from the ACC, Big East and Big Ten.
"I've got three offers from Duke, Iowa and Syracuse," he said. "They all came in about a month ago and so far I've visited Duke and Syracuse. I really liked both of them on my visits. I haven't had a chance to visit Iowa yet, but I plan to sometime soon."

Ehrmann went on to discuss the two unofficials he's taken already.
"Duke was really good," he said. "I like the staff and they have a great campus. It was basically an unofficial visit. They showed me the facilities; I toured the school and talked to coach Roof and some of the assistants. I liked their philosophy on coaching and the players they recruit. They want guys that love to play the game.
"Syracuse was really nice too. I really liked the coaches and the players seemed nice. They've got great facilities and the Carrier Dome is awesome. While I was there, I went to the Syracuse spring game. They definitely have some athletic linebackers and I like the way they swarm to the ball. It seems like a defense I'd want to play for. As for the coaches, I really liked coach Robinson. He's a nice guy that has been a coordinator in the NFL for 14 years. He loves to play the game."
Other schools showing interest in the Maryland prospects includes North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia and Wake Forest.
Do any colleges stick out for Ehrmann at this time?
"I really like Syracuse, but I wouldn't say they are leading because I don't know enough about other schools," he said. "I'm definitely looking for a winning program. I feel both Syracuse and Duke are close to turning it around. They have great coaches. I also want to stay close to home within driving distance."
In the coming weeks, Ehrmann plans to visit Wake Forest for an unofficial visit. He's also planning to head to camps this summer at Wake Forest and Penn State.
Ehrmann earned all-city, honorable mention all-state and Super 22 in Baltimore as a junior.
