Edwin Reed likes offense

Despite defensive prowess running in the family, Edwin Reed wants to move the football and score touchdowns at the next level.
The Destrehan (La.) standout, the younger brother of former Miami (Fla.) and current Baltimore Ravens defensive back Ed Reed, worked out as a wide receiver at the Baton Rouge NIKE Camp on Sunday and believes that's where he's going to try and play in college.

"I'm going to go to college and play wide receiver," he said. "I thought about cornerback, but I think I am too small right now. I know I'll get bigger on the next level, but I feel like wide receiver is my best bet because of my speed and my ability and the things that I do when I'm on offense."
Reed certainly looked the part Sunday. His quickness was evident when he ran his routes and flat-out left several opposing defensive backs.
On the recruiting front, Reed is getting attention from the Hurricanes, Ole Miss, Florida State and LSU. The Rebels
"Recruiting is looking good," he said. "I'm getting mostly letters now."
Reed currently has his eye on six schools.
"Miami (Fla.), LSU, USC, Michigan, Texas and Florida," Reed said.
Don't expect him to make an early decision.
"Maybe early, but maybe late," Reed said. "I want to keep people guessing."
Reed added that he needs to get bigger and faster to get ready for next season.
Reed had 32 catches for 625 yards and five touchdowns for Destrehan in 2005.
