Edwards on the map for Bowie

KELLER, Texas - There is another prospect at Arlington Bowie emerging in the 2008 class and that is cornerback Kip Edwards.
At the NIKE Combine this past weekend in Texas, Edwards put together some solid numbers and came in as one of the bigger cornerbacks on hand at 6-foot-1 and more than 170 pounds. Edwards says that he's been receiving mail but is waiting on one school in particular to make a scholarship offer.

"I'm just getting letters right now from Nebraska, TCU, Missouri, and schools like that," Edwards said. "My favorite, I would love to go to Arkansas and be a Razorback. I believe that their program is on the rise and I would just like to be a part of that."
Edwards didn't pick up any honors as a junior, but had three interceptions as a junior. He showed his jumping ability at the combine and said he jumped his vertical in the 31-inch range.
"I just wanted to come out here and show that I could compete," Edwards said about the combine. "I wanted to show that I'm one of the best at my position.
"My shuttle wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, but I felt like I did well."
