Star running back Barrington Edwards was scheduled to take a trip to Maryland this weekend, but had to postpone things. He has three trips left to set up, and now has a leader.
"We didn't get a chance to go to Maryland this weekend," said Edwards, the star back from Bowie, Md. "My mom was really busy and we wanted to re-schedule things for a time that would be easier.
"We're not sure when we're going to Maryland, but we will definitely take an official visit. I'm also going to set up trips to Southern Cal and Michigan State. We'll probably know the first week we get back to school, so that should be the first week of January. I've been to Pitt and LSU and I'll take trips to the other three. It's going to be pretty rushed."

Edwards has said that about five teams have been even for quite a while now, but he appears to have a more clear picture of things.
"My leader right now is LSU," said Edwards. "After that it's Pitt, Southern Cal, Michigan State, and Maryland, in that order. They're all still in the running, but that's the order in which I like them now."
What does Edwards think about new Michigan State Coach John L. Smith?
"He was successful over the past few years, so that's a good sign. I haven't gotten a chance to talk to him yet, because he's probably been busy with the contract and straightening things out and all. Hopefully I'll hear for him in the next few days.
"I'm not sure much new is going to happen over the next couple of weeks, because of the Holidays. When I get back to school I'll know when I'm going to take my trips to Southern Cal, Michigan State and Maryland, so that's when things will start to pick up again."
