Edison still mulling decision

Los Angeles (Calif.) Verbum Dei defensive end Justin Edison seemed to have solidified his commitment to Oregon State this past weekend following an official visit to Corvallis. After a home visit from another Pac 10 school earlier tonight, things look up in the air again.
Edison, 6-4, 220 pounds emerged this past season as one of the state’s elite pass rushers. He had a huge year racking up 83 tackles and 14 sacks in helping the Eagles win a CIF championship.

Edison committed to Oregon State back in December without even visiting the campus. He took a visit to Cal two weeks ago and then checked out the Beavers this past weekend.
Cal DL coach Ken Delgado was in for a home visit tonight and now Edison seems as confused as ever.
“Everything is pretty much up in the air right now,” Edison said. “If Signing Day was tomorrow, I really don’t know what I would do. Both schools have their advantages and I just need to sit down with my dad and figure out what the best thing for me to do is.
“I like Oregon State a lot because the coaching staff and just how comfortable I am with everyone there. With Cal, I like their education and they have a great football program.
“One big difference between the two schools is Cal wants me to grey-shirt and Oregon State said I could come in this fall. That’s one of the things Coach Delgado talked to me about tonight.
“He said they like my upside a lot but think I could use the extra year to get bigger and stronger since I’m still growing in to my frame. I know there are some definite advantages to grey-shirting but I would actually prefer to come in this fall with the rest of the class.
“On top of that, I’m still talking with UCLA. I just spoke with Coach Walker this morning and he’s supposed to call me later tonight to see about me taking a visit this weekend.
“If they offer me, I’ll probably take the visit. They’re pretty full on scholarships right now so I’m not sure what is going to happen there but coach Walker said they like me a lot and just want to see more film. I should have a better idea later in the week what my plans are and honestly, I don’t know when I’ll have a final decision. Just when I know, I know but I’m not going to rush anything.”
