Eddie Royal names favorites

Chantilly (Va.) Westfield wide receiver Eddie Royal has a new co-leader at the top of his list and back-to-back visits in January could decide where the four-star wideout ends up.
"My favorites now are Virginia and Virginia Tech," said the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder who is ranked as the No. 22 wideout in the country. "Virginia has moved up quite a bit on my list because I like their offense and the academics there. I've liked Tech for a long time now and my quarterback (Sean Glennon) is going there so that's a bonus for them."

Royal begins his official visit schedule with a trip to Virginia on Jan. 16. Then it's off to Virginia Tech (Jan. 23) and Marshall (Jan. 30).
"I'll decide after that I think," he said. "I still might take a mid-week visit to Tennessee as well somewhere in there. Those four are my favorites with Virginia Tech and Virginia on top."
Royal caught 45 passes for 920 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior. He also rushed for 96 yards and he intercepted a pass on defense. Westfield went 14-0 and won the 6A state championship.
