Eboh contemplating big decisions

Southlake (Texas) Carroll cornerback Obi Eboh is contemplating his options. He has not narrowed his list, but cuts could be coming soon. A commitment could also be on the horizon.

"Ideally I'd like to make a decision before the season starts just because it's kind of hard to go into the season with those kind of pressures," Eboh said. "I'm just kind of feeling it out, and when it feels right it's going to feel right. But ideally I'd like to make a decision before the start of the season."

If Eboh does make a preseason decision his list will need a trim. Duke, California, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Stanford, Arizona State, Missouri, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, and Washington are all keeping close contact, and the interest has caught his attention.

Eboh is not yet ready to narrow his focus, but he does admit a few schools are beginning to separate from the rest of the pack.

"I'd say probably Duke, Oklahoma, and Cal-Berkeley. Those are three schools I talk with almost every day," Eboh said. "And Arkansas too. I talk with them almost every day."

He has taken visits to Cal, Duke, Oklahoma, and Washington. His most recent trip was to Oklahoma with teammate and 2017 standout safety Robert Barnes. The Southlake teammates also ran into fellow recruit Jeffrey Okudah while in Norman. It was not Eboh's first trip to Oklahoma, but there were a few aspects of his most recent visit which stood out in his mind.

"I got to talk with coach Bob Stoops a lot individually so that was pretty good," Eboh said. "But I've been to Oklahoma a few times so I've seen Headington and I've seen all the dorms and everything. I got to spend time with coach Kerry Cooks too. The time with coach Cooks and coach Bob Stoops, it was really good."

Eboh does not have a date in mind for a potential preseason announcements, but he does have an idea about what factors are most important as he takes a look at his options.

"Basically just having a good combination of academics and athletics is the first thing I look for, then the possibility of playing early and getting reps," Eboh said. "Those are probably some of the more important things to me."
