According to Greg Owens, the coach at Lindale, Texas, high school, Oklahoma has landed a defensive end commitment for the Class of 2002.
"He was up there for an official visit," Owens said about his standout defensive end Michael Williams.
"He told me before this weekend that he was going to commit, so it's no real surprise to hear that he did."
Williams, who is 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, is exactly the type of East Texas player that gets overlooked by many fans and reporters.
However, he committed to Oklahoma over Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech and Minnesota, who had all offered him a scholarship.
