East Texas QB gets first offers

While he's watched his teammates like Dez Bryant, Ralph Thomas, and A.J. Penson pick up scholarship offers, dual-threat quarterback Jeremy Claybon has been waiting for his first to come. That has happened now.
Three schools have offered the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder and Claybon already has one team in the lead.

"Houston, Rice, and Tulsa have pretty much offered me now," Claybon said. "Oklahoma State is showing a lot of interest as well, but as of right now, Houston stands out to me."
The Cougars, being an in-state program, definitely fit the profile that Claybon is looking for.
"Well, I want to be close to home and I was down there watching there practices a while back and I liked what I saw," Claybon said. "It's a team that I feel like I could do well at."
Houston is also recruiting Claybon as a quarterback, but others are looking at him as a cornerback.
"If I'll be the best at cornerback, I'll do it, but I'd like to stay at QB," he said.
Claybon says he'll take some visits this fall and then make a commitment.
