Early reaction good news for Huskers
The first reaction to Nebraska’s hiring of Bill Callahan as its new coach is in. And so far the returns are good.
“This morning he seemed pretty excited about who they hired,” said Barb Brandenburgh, the mother of three-star linebacker Lance Brandenburgh of Overland Park (Kan.) St. Thomas Aquinas. “Obviously, Lance is very anxious to meet him and get him here in the house for an in-home visit.”

Brandenburgh’s mother said she listened to Callahan’s press conference and liked what she heard.
“It seems like he’s a good guy and really excited,” his mother said. “I think we’re really excited about the hire and happy the situation is cleared up.”
