Early Leader For Ohio DB

When it comes to cover cornerbacks in Ohio this year, Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller defensive back Eric Thatcher Jr. is right near the top of the list. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder only has one offer so far, but that will change very soon.
“Pitt has offered me a scholarship and I thank them for the opportunity to get a free college education and play football,” he said. “I love the facilities there as well – they’re all pro.”

Trailing Pitt right now are Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio State and Nebraska to round out Thatcher’s top five.
“Tennessee gets 105,000 per game – the fan support is unreal,” he said. “South Carolina has Lou Holtz, I’ve always grown up wanting to be a Buckeye and Nebraska is just a winning program.”
Thatcher has been visited by Boston College, Central Florida, Ohio State, Minnesota, Miami (Ohio) and Louisville so far this spring and is receiving mail from more than 40 schools. He’ll camp at Ohio State, Pitt, Tennessee, South Carolina and Louisville this summer and doesn’t expect to make a decision until after his senior season.
