Early leader for Masina

Osa Masina has already received offers from both Utah and BYU. However, the one from the Utes is especially important because his brother, Uaea, is committed in the 2013 class.

Masina, a 2015 athlete from Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton, said playing with his older brother in college is definitely a strong consideration and it's something the two discuss from time to time.
A decision is not expected anytime soon since Masina just wrapped up his sophomore season, but Utah is in great shape to land another local standout.
"Utah has always been up there no matter what other teams are recruiting me," Masina said last week at the Army National Combine in San Antonio. "I always grew up watching Utah and cheering for Utah. Uaea is committed to Utah so that's definitely a consideration.
"I want to wait it out though. I want to weigh my options and see if any other schools get involved. I'd like to take a look at some others to see who else is interested."
In addition to his current offers from Utah and BYU, Masina said Stanford, Colorado and San Diego State are showing early interest as well.
Staying closer to home to play college football is a strong consideration, but there are times when Masina thinks about going away and experiencing something new.
"I kind of want to stay at home and be close to my family," Masina said. "That would be nice because everyone knows you there and you'd be playing for your home crowd.
"But then I also have an interest going out and playing for a different crowd and getting new experiences."
His brother could play a factor. While leaving it open, Uaea Masina makes it clear he'd love to play with his younger brother in college.
"He's pushing it," Osa Masina said, "but he always says it's my choice."
