Early interest for 2015 QB

2015 quarterback Cinjun Erskine of Barnegat, N.J. obviously still has a great deal of time remaining before he really has to worry about his recruiting process, but that has not stopped schools from showing him plenty of early interest. Transferring to a new school for this season, Erskine is also eager to get back on the field.
"I'm splitting reps with other guys right now because I can't play till the fifth game of the season because I transferred," said Erskine, who is 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds.

Although he will miss a good portion of his sophomore season, Erskine still spent a majority of his off-season improving his game.
"Everything I did really focused on the reads," he said. "All winter I threw with Coach Cicardo and we did everything from footwork to basic technique to film stuff. I'm really just getting faster and I'm becoming a student of the game."
As an incoming sophomore after his transfer from Absecon (N.J.) Holy Spirit, recruiting has still remained consistent.
"There isn't much schools can do, but I went on a few unofficial visits to Rutgers and I've gotten a bunch of letters from other schools," said Erskine. "I've also been to Penn State, and Ohio State, LSU, Miami and Syracuse have all sent me a few letters."
During the summer Erskine camped at Rutgers and Penn State.
"I threw well at both, but I really like Rutgers," he said. "The school really is a big family and I love that."
Erskine also plans to attend the Rutgers home game against Syracuse in early October. While the Scarlet Knights have made a favorable early impression, the Jersey Shore quarterback grew up following another program.
"TCU was my dream school for a long time," said Erskine. "My family and I are Christians and going to a Christian university would be awesome, but it's far from home."
Since he has seen limited playing time in his career to this point and will miss the first four games of the 2012 season, Erskine gave a quick description of his style of play.
"A lot of people say I play like Tim Tebow, but I can also stay in the pocket," said Erskine. "I would not mind being compared to him."
