BRADENTON, Fla. - One of the top rising juniors at the IMG 7-on-7 National Championship event is Homestead (Fla.) wide receiver Ermon Lane. The 2014 prospect has already landed a pair of major in-state offers and says four schools are standing out early on.
"Miami, Florida State, Alabama, and Florida," Lane said of his early list of favorites. "I have offers from Florida State and Miami.
"They are all pretty even," Lane added.
The 6-foot-2, 172-pound wide receiver says that all four schools share a similar trait.
"Their coaches show you a lot of love," Lane said. "They treat you like you are one of their kids."
He also shared some specifics about what he likes in regards to each of his early favorites.
Miami: "That is my dream school. Their recruiting class last year was very good. I think they are going to be good."
Florida State: "They had a good team last year and almost all of them are coming back. So that should be a big part of their season."
Alabama: "They are coming off a National Championship. Not much else that needs to be said."
Florida: "They seem like they are getting back as a team. I think they are going to have a good season."
Lane mentioned plans to visit Florida State and Alabama in July. With regards to making a decision, Lane intends to allow the process to play out over the next year.
