Early attention for Georgia WR

While there haven't been any formal scholarship offers yet, there is early interest in Roswell (Ga.) wide receiver/defensive back Garrett Embry. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder has been getting looks from a number of Division I-A programs.
One of those is local Atlantic Coast Conference program Georgia Tech. Embry was on the Tech campus last weekend for a Junior Day event.

"It was nice," Embry said. "The coaches are real nice and it's a family atmosphere."
There have been plenty of other programs that have shown interest. Indiana, Northwestern, Boston College, Auburn, Florida and Arizona State are among those that have been in touch.
"Northwestern invited me to their junior day," Embry said. "Boston College wants me in their camp and Florida invited me to their camp."
On Saturday, Embry competed at the Atlanta NIKE Combine on the campus of Douglass High.
"(The combine) went ok," he said.
Embry posted a 4.5-second mark in the shuttle.
Embry is coming off a season in which he helped his team advance to the Georgia Class 5A championship game. During that game, Embry caught an 83-yard touchdown pass and had four tackles.
