Early ASU offer big for Poplawski

Jared Poplawski had a big junior season and helped his team win a state championship, and that success has carried over to his recruitment.
The three-star tight end from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro picked up a scholarship offer from Arizona State last month and has also been hearing from Arizona, Oregon State and Wisconsin, which already holds commitments from two of his teammates.

The Sun Devils have the local appeal but Poplawski's process appears to just be getting started.

IN HIS WORDS: "I was super exited to get the offer," Poplawski told Rivals.com. "The atmosphere at the ASU-Arizona game was awesome.
"Coach (Mike) Norvell offered me (before he left for Memphis) and said that ASU uses tight ends the same way that my school uses me and that I would be a great fit for their offense."
WHAT'S NEXT?: The 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect had 438 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 12 games as a junior this fall. The spring should be big for him as coaches make their annual rounds through the Grand Canyon State during the evaluation period.
