Eagles Red Hawks for DE

Akron (Ohio) Hoban defensive end Ryan Thompson might be making a decision soon.

"Ryan really liked his visit to Boston College," said Thompson's mother of his official visit to Chestnut Hill, Mass. this past weekend. "He felt he fit in well with the players and other recruits and the academics are terrific there. It's also a very nice city."

The Eagles have competition from the MAC and Big Ten with a Pac-10 team lurking as well.

"He goes to Miami (Ohio) this weekend and I know that BC and Miami are his two favorites," she said. "He might make a decision shortly after that. If not, Northwestern has said they'll offer if he visits and Stanford has been recruiting him hard as well. Duke and Maryland are also in there, but it's pretty much BC, Miami and Northwestern."

Thompson has had 10 or more sacks in each of the last two seasons. He has coaches from Boston College, Miami (Ohio) and Duke in his house this week.
