Eagles Commodores for Whitworth

Milton (Mass.) Catholic Memorial running back L.V. Whitworth has a chance to do something nearly every Massachusetts football player dreams about – play for the home state Boston College Eagles. However, Whitworth isn’t a BC commitment yet – or is he?
“I took a visit to Boston College this past weekend and it was cool,” said the 6-foot-0, 218-pounder. “BC is really close to home so it’s a place I’ve been to a bunch of times and feel comfortable with. This time I get to stay over a couple of nights and get to know the players, which was a big difference. They are a very close team.”

Whitworth rushed for more than 1,300 yards this past season and had his biggest game (370 yards on 16 carries) against Xaverian Brothers, a perennial state power. He’s already visited Vanderbilt and is done with his official visits. So when will he decide?
“I’ll talk things over with my family this week and then decide,” he said. “BC is great because it’s close to home, but it could be too close to home. If I want to get out of the state, Vanderbilt will be where I go. They also have a great running back situation for me there as well.”
Whitworth is the No. 47 running back in the country.
