EA SPORTS Elite 11 Recap: Harrison Beck

Clearwater (Fla.) Countryside quarterback Harrison Beck first caught our eye two years ago at the Nike camp in Florida.

Although just a rising junior, Beck came out to watch the camp so he would know what to expect the following year. We invited him out to the field to throw and he immediately impressed us with his strong arm and mechanics.

Fast forward a couple of years later and Beck is now one of the nation's finest signal callers and showed why at the EA SPORTS Elite 11 Quarterback camp.

Beck, 6-1, 205 pounds had a strong junior season completing 120-200 passes for 2,300 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was the top signal caller on the board for Nebraska and committed to the Cornhuskers in early June. He's not just a talented player but a great kid as well and was a pleasure to be around during the Elite 11 camp.

Beck was noticeably pressing early in the camp and trying to over throw a little too much but improved as the week went along. Beck has good arm strength and doesn’t need to try and over throw. When he does, his mechanics take a slight hit and he loses some accuracy.

Beck has good feet and takes a nice aggressive drop. He moves well in and out of the pocket and works very hard on his game. The signal caller is committed to the weight room and has a strong body that will hold up well in the rugged Big 12. He's very smart and did well in the chalk talks which was a big reason why the college counselors voted Beck as the most likely to play right away in college.

Beck takes well to coaching, is very competitive and has a strong hunger to excel.

He’s a gamer who plays even better in pads and should do good things at Nebraska early in his career.
