Rumors have been flying since a local newspaper article regarding Millville, N.J. defensive tackle Dwayne Hendricks stated he could be re-thinking his Miami commitment. Is it true?
"No, it's not true at all," said Millville head coach Dave Heck. "What happened was that Dwayne spoke to a newspaper reporter and told him he wasn't decided yet, but it wasn't really the case. He wanted to keep some suspense for his Signing Day announcement, but when word spread like crazy, he knew he had to back off. Dwayne is committed to Miami and isn't looking anywhere else."
Hendricks chose the Hurricanes over offers from Virginia, Florida, Iowa, Michigan and Penn State amongst others.
"The article said he was still considering Virginia so I got a call right away from Mike Groh," said Heck. "I talked to Dwayne and told him he needed to be straight with everyone. He told coach Groh he was going to Miami."
Hendricks, a 6-foot-4, 246-pounder, is ranked as the No. 11 defensive tackle in the country by Rivals.com and the No. 4 player in New Jersey.
