Duvernay takes first two officials

Sachse (Texas) Rivals100 wide receiver Devin Duvernay began his official visit tour with stops at Ohio State and Alabama. His most recent stop was in Tuscaloosa to see the Crimson Tide host the Arkansas Razorbacks.
"It was good to be able to go back," Duvernay said. "I went around May and I knew then I wanted to come see a game and feel the atmosphere. But it was great. And like you said I got to see Calvin Ridley and got to see some things he does that they feel I can do similar to him."

He was hosted on his trip by wide receiver Robert Foster, and he was able to soak in the entire experience.
"What really caught my attention as gameday in general and being able to see all the fans and tailgating around there," Duvernay said. "We walked around and the Walk of Champions leading up to the game. Then the game itself."
Before his trip to Tuscaloosa, was his trip to Columbus, Ohio, where he was hosted by Alex Stump and K.J. Hill on his visit to Ohio State.
"I just liked the overall vibe I got," Duvernay said. "It was my first time up there so everything was kind of new to me so it was good getting up north and I had a good time as well. I had a good game day. There were obviously differences in Alabama, but it was still a good time and I got to see some good traditions they have."
Duvernay was not able to make a previously scheduled official visit to LSU and he is working to reschedule with the Tigers. An in-season official visit to Oklahoma is also in the planning stages with the October 23 weekend being the target weekend.
"The (Oklahoma) coach gave me the dates yesterday and I'm going to look and talk to my parents to see if that will be ok and if I can make it," Duvernay said.
Duvernay plans to take an official visit to Baylor after the season. His brother, Donovan Duvernay, recently committed to the Bears in September, and the two have openly discussed playing together. Duvernay did not declare the Bears his leader, but his brother's decision has impacted him.
"I'd say it helps them out a little bit, but at the end of the day I'm going to make my decision," Duvernay said.
He may not be ready to name a leader, but he has trimmed his list of top programs.
"Pretty much in the mix it has been OU, Alabama, Ohio State, Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU, and LSU. Those are the teams I'm focusing on right now," Duvernay said. "On that last (visit), if I don't end up taking LSU, I'm going to try and take my last official to one of those schools I haven't taken yet."
Duvernay is currently ranked No. 66 in the Rivals100, No. 11 among the nation's 2016 wide receivers, and No. 9 in the Rivals.com Texas Preseason Top 100. Through six games in 2015, he has recorded 35 receptions for 752 yards and 8 touchdowns, and rushed for 240 yards and 3 touchdowns on 22 carries.
