Duvernay nearing big decisions

Sachse (Texas) Rivals100 wide receiver Devin Duvernay is one of the fastest prospects in the country, and one of the most highly coveted.
His 10.27 in the 100m at the UIL State Track and Field Championships is the second fastest high school time in the country for 2015, and it confirmed that Duvernay was in fact really really fast.

Speed is not the only thing Duvernay brings to the table, and it is not the only reason college programs from coast-to-coast have extended scholarship offers.
Duveranay has kept an open mind to the recruiting process so far, but it does look like a few decisions will be made in the near future. Before doing anything the Dallas-area standout plans to visit Texas, Oklahoma State, and LSU, but after those summer time visits he hopes to name a preseason top 10.
He is not ready to release a list yet, but he does feel like a few college programs have a really good shot at making his list whenver it is released.
"I feel like Texas, Baylor, TCU, Alabama, and Auburn will make it but I'm still looking," Duvernay said. "I liked it when I went up there. I feel like they have a good plan for me. I feel like I could succeed, be able to reach my goals, and all that on those teams. That's pretty much it."
After narrowing his list to 10, he hopes to narrow his list even further.
"I'll probably have a top five around the middle of the season and I plan on taking all five officials as well," Duvernay said. "I'm pretty sure those five (visits) will be my top five."
Trimming the list has not been an easy task. There have been many options and many trips, and as much fun as everything has been it has also been difficult.
"It's a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I'm just taking it all in," Duvernay said. "You go to all these places and they all have nice stuff, coaches, and coaching staffs and they all can be beneficial to you. You just have to try and figure out which one you like the most and where you fit in."
He may not know where he will spend his college days, but he does know track will likely be in his future.
"Pretty much every school I'm talking with says track is definitely ok with them, the track coach and the football coach," Duvernay said. "I look to do both in college."
It also looks like there is, at the very least, a very good chance his brother, Donovan Duvernay, will be his teammate.
"Most likely we will be playing with each other," Duvernay said.
Duvernay is currently ranked No. 57 in the Rivals100, No. 9 among the nation's 2015 wide receivers, and No. 8 in the Rivals.com Texas Spring Top 100. He recorded 54 receptions for 895 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior in 2014.
