Duran reopening his recruitment

Marietta (Ga.) Kell tight end David Duran is uncertain of his future now that Cincinnati head coach Mark Dantonio left for Michigan State. Now that the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder has been in touch with the staff, he intends to look around at other schools.
"I talked to the coaches and they basically said they are unsure if they'll be able to honor my scholarship," he said. "It all is going to depend on the new head coach. I understand it's a business and that's how things work. I hope they'll honor it.

"If they do I intend to stick with Cincinnati. I still like the fact that they have really nice facilities and the program is doing big things. I believe they are a young team and will be successful in the future."
Of course, right now Duran is planning to reopen his recruitment to safeguard himself.
"I've got to explore my options," he said. "I definitely will look at Michigan State since coach Dantonio is headed there. I'm also checking out Southern Miss, Central Florida and East Carolina."
The two-star prospect concluded his season a couple weeks back helping Kell to a 5-5 record.
"We won our last three games," he said. "I don't know all my statistics, but I did have two touchdowns, an interception and three sacks."
