River Ridge (La.) John Curtis wide receiver Malachi Dupre has long been linked with the LSU football program. He is from the New Orleans-area just down the road from Baton Rouge and has been a highly coveted target for the Tigers from the start of the recruiting process. So it's not a huge surprise that he committed to the Tigers.

"I had a good relationship with all the coaches who were recruiting me," Dupre said. "I just felt like it was right to stay home in the state of Louisiana and try to bring back a national championship."
Dupre, a 6-foot-4, 180-pound wide receiver, is ranked as the No. 15 player overall in the country and is the second highest-ranked receiver in the nation. He chose the Tigers over Alabama, UCLA, Florida State, and Ole Miss.
Dupre took an official visit to LSU on Jan. 17 then headed straight to Alabama, Florida State, and Ole Miss before wrapping up his official visits with a visit to UCLA on the weekend before Signing Day. Dupre was a standout at the Under Armour All America Game. He is the second five-star prospect to sign with LSU, joining the nation's top running back and Louisiana's top ranked prospect Leonard Fournette.
