Duncan finds a home at LB

BATON ROUGE, La. - You've probably never heard of a linebacker wearing jersey number 73. That is exactly what number Baton Rouge (La.) Tara linebacker Brian Duncan sports on Friday nights.
"I played defensive tackle until mid way through the season last year," Duncan said. "One of our linebackers got hurt for a week and I had to step in and play some linebacker. I did so well there that they left me there. I was already wearing No. 73 and didn't want to change and I'm going to wear it again this year. I know I won't be able to wear it in college, but I'm thinking No. 37."

The 6-foot-2, 228-pound Duncan could be a fast rising prospect with a big season. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, has a 315-pound bench press and 495-pound squat.
"I have offers from Texas Tech, New Mexico State and Baylor," Duncan said. "LSU is recruiting me pretty hard, but they have not offered yet. I grew up a big fan and it's close to home and I would like to stay close to home if I could. I went down to camp and got to talk to coach Miles and he told me about his game plans and philosophies and stuff, he's a great guy."
As a junior Duncan racked up 74 solo tackles, 16 tackles for loss, six sacks, one pass break up and two fumble recoveries.
"I really like Oklahoma, Nebraska, Arkansas, Auburn and LSU," Duncan said. "I am waiting for some of those schools to offer. I know Arkansas is very interested, they have been talking to me a lot. LSU, Texas Tech and Arkansas are all real high on my list."
Duncan is ranked as the No. 27 player in the state of Louisiana by Rivals.com.
