Dunbar WR lands his first offer

Washington (D.C.) Dunbar is a recent hotbed for Division I talent. The school once again features a handful of prospects to watch in 2009 and one player at the school has already received his first offer.
"I got it last Wednesday I believe from Michigan State," Dunbar wide receiver Deon Long said. "I was happy about it. They are in the Big Ten and play against Illinois. Illinois has a lot of players from Dunbar I used to play with."

Michigan State may be the only school that has offered, but other schools including Maryland, Virginia, Illinois and Pittsburgh are also showing interest.
Is there an early leader for the 6-foot-0, 180-pounder?
"I'm not really feeling anyone," he said. "I'm mostly looking for my field of study. I want to be a vet. I also want good graduation rates. Location doesn't matter."
Obviously Illinois has plenty of ties to Dunbar. Does that intrigue Long?
"They are a good school and have good coaches that have coached NFL players."
Long plans to attend the Nike Combine at Pittsburgh this weekend.
