Entering the last weekend before National Signing Day, Indiana held the lead for Gray (Ga.) Jones County wide receiver Jontavis Robertson, but then Duke received the final visit, and Robertson is now a Blue Devil.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"Duke has been around me from day one and never left my side, making it feel like a family," said Robertson. "It was a hard decision, but praying to God and talking to my family and coaches got me through it.

"The family atmosphere they have built, coach Cutcliffe, the hard work everyone put in as well has played into my decision.

"Coach Trooper Taylor is important too. He has always loved me and calls me his next son.

"When I told the coaches about my commitment, the whole staff greeted me the hugs and handshakes.

"Going to Duke is a huge honer because nobody where I'm from has had a chance to go to a school like this. I'm glad to be the first and I pray more will follow in my footsteps."

RIVALS REACTION

Robertson is a playmaker. He is a strong, thick receiver with strong hands and the ability to make plays on offense or special teams. He can break tackles, he can make the first guy miss and he had a big-time senior season with over 1,000 yards receiving. Duke is getting a kid who knows how to work hard, that will compete and Robertson is a player that is likely to see the field early.
