Duke hopes to land another talent in Georgia

Duke already has commitments from Shaka Heyward, Casey Holman and Taiyon Palmer, three talented prospects out of Georgia.

The Blue Devils want more.

James Ohonba is a 6-foot-5, 320 pound offensive lineman out of Stockbridge (Ga.) Woodland with an official offer from Duke and he likes what they have to offer.

The coaches out of Cameron (N.C.) are putting in the work and it is paying off.

"I like Duke a lot," said Ohonba. "We have had good communication and I definitely have one of the better relationships with coaches with those from Duke.

"I talk to my position coach, coach [Marcus] Johnson and I talk to other coaches too. We talk at least once a week, but usually more. They are really trying to get to know me, which is important to me.

"I don't want it to be about football because football will be gone one day. They talk to me about more than football, so that means a lot to me."

Prospects always want that connection with their position coach and coach Johnson has really struck a chord with Ohonba.

"I feel he is one of the most genuine coaches I have ever talked to. He is a jokster, and I like that because I like to joke around too. He is a real easy going person, he is smart and I feel like I could be around him and be coached by him."

The last time Ohonba was there was the summer before his junior year. Most of his time there was for the camp, but he also saw some of the campus, what the dorms were like and what the vibe was like.

Without hesitation, the No. 15-ranked offensive guard said he could see himself fitting in well there.

"It is a real calm setting setting and I felt real at ease there," said Ohonba. "That setting is perfect for the type of guy I am. I just liked the environment and I feel I could be comfortable there.

"The atmosphere there, how the coaches are with me and the education I could leave with there is what I like most.

"Everything I know about Duke is positive."

Ohonba plans to take in a game this fall and take an official visit as well. He said Duke is "one" of his top schools. Michigan State is another school high on his list.
