Duhart battles back from injuries

He’s ranked as one of the top 100 players in the state of Florida by Rivals.com, but because of a few injuries teams have slowly but surely gotten into the sweepstakes to land Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central tight end/strongside defensive end Tommie Duhart.
“I’ve been working hard to get back in shape,” Duhart, who measured 6-foot-3 and 254 pounds at the Miami NIKE Training Camp, said.

“I have been moving a little slow because of the injuries, but I’ve really worked hard on that and have gotten a lot faster.
“I went to the Florida camp, and it went pretty good. I was a little slow in the 40, but they wanted to see me run. But I know since I’ve been working hard if I would line up and run it today, it would be a lot faster.”
While Duhart has been working hard at improving his speed and recovering, he’s also ready to go out and showcase his pass-catching skills.
“I’ve gotten a lot stronger, and that’ll help me, too,” he said. “As far as catching the ball, I really showed Florida at camp, that I can do a good job with that. I hope to get more shots at getting the ball this year.”
Duhart got an early offer from Notre Dame and received May calls from Auburn, Iowa, Pittsburgh and Alabama said he’s still taking his time with the recruiting process and will let his senior season speak for itself.
“We start practice on August 9,” he said. “We then play against Ely in the kickoff classic. We’re going to have a lot of krunk in our system.”
