Class of 2014 Louisville, Ohio, quarterback Joey Duckworth started four games as a sophomore after the senior quarterback went down with injury, but this year he starts out the season as the leader under center and is off to a good start.
In Louisville's opening game last weekend, Duckworth completed19-of-31 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-13 win.
Even before he began a season as his team's starter, however, the 6-foot-3, 209-pound Duckworth was picking up college scholarship offers from MAC programs Bowling Green, Buffalo and Toledo.

Most of those offers came after camp appearances. Duckworth also attended camps at Pitt, Penn State, Ohio State and N.C. State.
"Ohio State was the coolest experience," Duckworth said. "I used to go to games there all the time when I was little, so it was awesome being there for that."
Duckworth attended two of Ohio State's camps, including their Friday Night Lights event at the end of July.
This fall, Duckworth is looking to see a few more stadiums. Trips to Toledo and Bowling Green are in the works, and he would also like to check out Michigan State, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
"I just got an invitation from Michigan State the other day for their game on Friday against Boise State, but I can't go because we have a game on Friday," Duckworth said. "We emailed them back and I think I will go to another of Michigan State's games."
