DT Zellars has a final three

The season has come to a conclusion for Hutchinson (Kan.) C.C. defensive tackle Darrell Zellars and now the 6-2, 285-pound prospect is looking to make his decision in time for his December graduation. He has narrowed his list of offers down to three schools with official visits set to take place in the coming weeks.
"Right now I am trying to decide between Ohio, UCF and UAB," Zellars reported. "They have just been calling me and keeping in contact with me. They seem like they really need a player to come in for them, so that's why I chose those three schools."

Zellars had also picked up offers from the likes of Georgia State, Iowa State, Kansas State and North Texas. The offer from Central Florida was his most recent, coming in October.
Earlier this season, Zellars made an unofficial visit to Kansas State for a home football game. He has already been in discussions with the coaches at his three favorite schools about taking official visits to their programs.
"I'm still looking to be out in December and I've got two [official visits] scheduled in December," Zellars reported. "We're not sure what weekends they will be, but one will be to Ohio and one will be to Central Florida."
Zellars will be looking for a coaching staff he can connect with, but the most important factor he will evaluate during these upcoming visits is the need at his position and opportunity for early playing time.
"I have taken a look at the depth charts and it looks like Ohio University is in need the most," Zellars said. "They have a lot of seniors and they also have a young group coming in."
Hutchinson ended their season with a semifinals playoff loss to Fort Scott earlier this month. Zellars contributed 10 tackles in that final game and ended the season with three sacks.
