DT with one offer, others watching

Sean Watson is a defensive line prospect from Panama City Rutherford High School. Watson, 6-3 and 290 pounds, is one of the top linemen from Florida's panhandle. Last month, Watson received his first scholarship offer.
"Florida International has offered," Watson said. "FIU offered me earlier this summer, back in early June. I don't know too much about them. I know they are going to change up their defense and I think I will have a chance to play right away. They went to play defense at a faster pace."

Several other teams are in hot pursuit of Watson and a few could be close to making him an offer.
"East Carolina and Southern Miss are talking about offering me. Southern Miss likes me at offense guard. I didn't know that until I went up there (camp). Teams are looking at me on both sides and I prefer to play on the defensive side.
"Most teams want to see what I do this season. If I have a good season both FSU and Florida have said they would likely offer. Georgia Tech, Clemson, USF are other teams that will be watching this fall."
Aside from camping with Southern Miss, Watson has also camped at Florida State twice.
"FSU was my favorite team growing up. But the recruiting thing is different. I want to wait and see how things look this fall and see who offers me."
Last season as a junior had 68 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks. For the third consecutive season Watson will start at both offensive and defensive tackle.
Rutherford opens up their season with Pensacola Escambia next month.
