DT Tyler takes local visit

Fayetteville (N.C.) E.E. Smith defensive tackle DeMarcus Tyler took his second official visit this past weekend.
"NC State was nice," said the 6-foot-3, 315-pounder after watching the Wolfpack defeat Florida State in Raleigh. "I was hosted by a linebacker named Freddie, I can't remember his last name but he was cool and the players were all nice."

Tyler has previously been to Ohio State on an official visit and felt the two schools were similar.
"Ohio State is bigger, but NC State has a great crowd as well and I think the two compare well," he said. "We're still in the playoffs so I need to focus on that for now. I'll take my last two or three visits in January I think."
Tyler had listed Tennessee and North Carolina as his only remaining favorites, but it's a bit more open than people think.
"Maryland, Auburn, South Carolina and Wake Forest might get a visit, I don't know," he said. "I'll wait until the coaches can come in and I can talk to them to decide where I go next."
Tyler doesn't want to name a leader right now.
"It's wide open," he said. "NC State is great because it's close, but Ohio State will be playing for a national title so both are cool. I'll need all my trips."
