DT Sarra on the way to camp

Greensburg (Pa.) Central Catholic defensive tackle Bernie Sarra has one offer so far but he's hoping he earns the opportunity to play Division I football.
At 6-foot-1 and 327-pounds Sarra obviously has the size to play defensive tackle in the college ranks. In fact, he might be a perfect fit in a 3-4 defense if he works on his explosiveness and he's able to keep his weight under control.

While Sarra's size is an obvious plus he isn't the quickest or the fastest prospect. The pros and cons are obvious, so coaches want to get him on campus and watch him working out.
"I'm going to Bowling Green right now," Sarra said on Thursday afternoon. "We're on our way up there now for their senior camp. I've been in touch with them a lot. I've been up there twice and I like the facilities and stuff. The campus is nice."
Sarra has taken a proactive approach to the recruiting process, visiting schools and maintaining a steady line of communication with the coaches that have shown interest. That has paid off in the form of an offer from Bryant and heavy interest from Bowling Green, as well as Pitt and Akron. Those latter two schools are also near the top of his list.
"My favorites are probably Bowling Green, Akron and Pitt," he explained.
"I was just at Pitt the other day for their camp. I'm in touch with their coaches a lot and I've been up to the school a lot. I was there for a couple of spring practices and I camped there my sophomore and junior years.
"I've been to Akron for a junior day and a spring game. I've been in the locker room twice and I'm going up for a camp on Tuesday."
Sarra said he plans on waiting for a while before he makes his decision but said if the right offer comes along he could speed up his timetable.
