DT Patterson on the verge of new offer

Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha defensive tackle Kendall Patterson is fresh off an unofficial visit. The 6-foot-2, 272-pounder is on the verge of landing his first offer from the Big East and has another visit coming up.
"I'm just getting back from Rutgers," he said. "It went well. I was really excited to get up there and see the campus. I liked what I saw. They are moving up on my list."

Did Rutgers offer?
"The offer is in the process," he said. "They were just saying their big thing is that they want to see me in person and now that they saw me the offer is in the bag."
Patterson gave his take on the Scarlet Knights.
"I like the Big East Conference," he said. "That's my first offer from the Big East and I'm just really excited to look into the school a bit more and weight my options."
The three-star prospect plans to take another trip in just over a week.
"On the 28th I'm going up to Michigan State," he said. "I just want to sit down with the coaches up there and talk to the staff, see the campus and get a feel for the place. I want to see if I can fit in there."
Following that trip, Patterson isn't sure where he'll head next.
"I'm just playing it by ear, taking it slow," he said. "As of right now I'm enjoying the process. I would definitely like to make a decision right before the season starts, but if not it'll be on Signing Day.
"I'm still hard to say about favorites, I'm staying open."
