DT Jackson is emerging

Powhatan, Va. defensive tackle Jay Jackson is beginning to emerge in the 2011 recruiting class. The jumbo athlete, a 6-foot-4, 261-pounder is just starting to get interest from numerous colleges.
"Athletically, he's definitely a real good player," Powhatan, Va. head coach Jim Woodson said. "He's a little raw and basically was going on his natural ability.

"He's not a technician, he needs to get better with his techniques. But, he's very athletic and a big, strong kid with a lot of potential. He hasn't peaked. He can get a lot bigger."
A versatile athlete, Jackson also plays basketball and does track including the shot putt and discuss.
According to Woodson, interest is coming from numerous schools around the area including Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
