Junior To Watch: Christopher McDowell
School: Greenville (S.C.) Eastside

Position: Defensive tackle/tight end
Size and speed: McDowell is 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds.
Honors: All-region, (second straight year) all academic, Eastside’s Defensive Line MVP.
Statistics: McDowell had 97 tackles, 15 for loss and five sacks as a junior.
Favorite schools: South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt.
Skinny: McDowell is a fearful pass rusher on defense and has lettered in each of his three years as a starter for the Eastside varsity football team. He is also a starter on the basketball team and boasts a 3.7 Grade Point Average and expects to be a full qualifier.
McDowell is a lifelong fan of South Carolina and he is currently favoring the Gamecocks at this time.
“I’ve been a USC fan for a while. I like the facilities and I like the atmosphere, players and coaches down there.”
McDowell is waiting for an offer from South Carolina.
McDowell went to Virginia’s junior camp this past weekend.
"Virginia was good. The campus was really nice and facilities were really nice.”
McDowell plans to attend summer football camps at South Carolina and Virginia.
