DT earning plenty of offers

Mandeville (La.) Fontainebleau defensive lineman Rudy Odom has seen his stock skyrocket in recent months as he now holds 16 scholarship offers.
Odom, a 6-foo-5, 267-pound prospect that could play either defensive end or defensive tackle at the next level has offers from Auburn, Baylor, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Southern Miss, Texas Tech and UCLA to name a few. LSU is the only school recruiting him on the offensive side of the football.

“I don’t think I could say I have a list of favorites right now, I’m still getting new offers coming in,” explained Odom. “Auburn, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and LSU are probably recruiting me the hardest so far.”
Odom admits that a lack of an offer from the home state Tigers at this point has left him resigned to the fact that he will more than likely be playing his collegiate ball outside the state of Louisiana. Distance is no longer a factor for Odom because of it.
“It would be nice to get an offer from LSU, but I don’t think it’s coming right now,” admitted Odom. “I’m was also hoping to get an offer from Virginia Tech, but they wanted me to camp first. I was supposed to go this weekend, but we can’t make it due to a family illness. My parents travel with me when I visit schools, but my father had surgery on his shoulder and can’t travel for a while, so we have to skip the camp.”
As a junior, Rudy recorded 63 tackles, fifteen tackles for a loss and five sacks. He also numbered 27 quarterback hurries and earned all-district honors. Odom is only sixteen and is still growing.
Odom has camped at Oklahoma State and Auburn so far as well as taking unofficial visits to LSU and Louisiana-Lafayette. Rudy hopes to narrow his list to five schools by the end of the summer.
