DT Arthurs looking to earn respect

Wheaton (Ill.) South junior defensive tackle prospect Chris Arthurs (6-foot-1, 265 pounds) had very few expectations heading into the May evaluation period.
"I really wasn't expecting much from the May evaluation period," Arthurs said. "I was just hoping that some college coaches would see me perform in person this spring. I wanted to get a chance to be evaluated on the field, and overall I feel that May went well above and beyond what I had hoped for from an attention standpoint."

Arthurs recapped his May recruiting evaluation period.
"I think I received roughly 20 phone calls from college coaches in May. We also had around 35-45 college coaches that made in school visits in May according to my head coach (Ron Muhitch). It was really great to hear about so many coaches in school. I also really loved the whole Nike Camp experience, it was a great event and just getting a chance to be seen working by so many coaches was just amazing."
Arthurs will now put his focus on his final exams and hitting the college camps this summer.
"I have finals coming up, and once I get past those tests it's all about football this summer. I know that several schools are looking at my height (measured at 6-foot-1 at the Rivals.com Junior Day this winter), and I'm just determined to play like I'm 6-foot-4 in camps this summer. My goal is to dominate in every camp I go to this summer."
"I'm camping on June 4th at Ball State, then I'm heading to Indiana on June 5th. I'm also going to Purdue on June 15th and Illinois on June 18th. I'm also looking at camping at Michigan on June 21st, Northwestern on June 25th and Western Michigan on June 28th."
