Drought over for Huskers

It’s been a long time since the Nebraska Cornhuskers have been able to celebrate a new commitment, but that changed after a three-star junior college offensive lineman has pulled the trigger.
“He committed on the visit this weekend,” said Alex Delone, the father of Walnut (Calif.) Mt. San Antonio College offensive tackle Darin Delone. “He said he really was impressed with the weight room and the coaches. I would like him to take on more visit, but he says that he’s made his decision, and I’m going to have to respect him on that.”

Delone, who is ranked at three-stars, is 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds. He said in previous interviews that his specialty is pass blocking and his coach agrees.
“Not many players have the size and athleticism that Darin possesses,” Mt. SAC head coach Bill Fisk said.
“He has great feet and is a devastating pass blocker. Darin is pretty good at run blocker too.”
Delone picked NU this weekend after an official visit to Lincoln. He was also offered by Mississippi State and Arizona State. Delone will graduate in May and have three years to play two seasons.
