Doxey up to five offers

One player we were really hoping to see more of this past summer was San Diego (Calif.) Hoover defensive back Todd Doxey. Doxey is one of the elite safety prospects in the West region and sitting on five scholarship offers right now.
Doxey, 6-2, 175 pounds had a big junior season earning league defensive player of the year, 1st team all-CIF and 2nd team all-state underclass honors after totaling 97 tackles and five picks. He added 36 catches for 740 yards and nine touchdowns at receiver but is being recruited primarily on the defensive side of the ball.

"Right now, I have offers from San Diego State, Oregon, Colorado State, Boise State and Oregon State," Doxey said. "September 1 is coming when coaches can start calling again so I think things will start to pick up pretty soon here. I've had those five offers for awhile now but a lot of schools told me they'll be watching me pretty closely early in the season and an offer could be coming depending on how I play.
"Right now, I would say I have a top three of Oregon, UCLA and Arizona State. Oregon has offered and UCLA and ASU have been recruiting me hard for some time. I went to UCLA's Junior Day and had a good time there. I like the coaching staff at ASU a lot and I definitely want to take official visits to all three schools before making a decision.
"I really don't have a time table for making a decision right now. I know I want to take some of my trips but I don't know if I'll be able to take all five since I play on the basketball team. Hopefully I can take as many as possible, some during the season, and then when I feel comfortable with the school, coaches and players on the team, that's when I'll go ahead and make a commitment somewhere."
