Doxey raves about visit to Oregon

San Diego (Calif.) Hoover defensive back Todd Doxey took an official visit to Oregon this past weekend. The last time we talked to Doxey, he told us there was a chance he could possibly commit on the visit if he was liked what he saw. Is the athlete close to pulling the trigger?
Doxey, 6-2, 170 pounds played a Friday night game and then took the first flight out of San Diego Saturday morning to get out to Eugene.

"I left at 6:18 in the morning and got in there around 9:00," Doxey said. "I got picked up at the airport and we ate a huge breakfast before heading over to the stadium. They played UCLA at 12:30 so we go there in time to see the players warm up and it was awesome being on the field for pre-game and hearing the crowd.
"That was easily the loudest stadium I've ever been in and it was just so exciting being there for that. I was in the locker room before the game and at halftime and got to hear the pep talks from the coaches. The game itself was pretty cool, I don't think the score showed how much Oregon dominated. I knew they would win but I thought it would be closer than it was.
"Watching the game, it was a pretty big reality check for me. Just seeing the size and speed of all those athlete and realizing that I'll be at that level a year from now, it was eye opening. I think I'll be able to compete though, I know I need to get in to the weight room but I think I'll be able to play at that level.
"After the game, I met up with my hosts who were Cody Kempt and Jairus Byrd. We ate again back at the hotel and then we went out to some party's. Eugene is a pretty cool place, it's a lot different than San Diego but I liked it. It's slower paced but real homey and the people are very friendly. It would take some getting used to but I think I would fit in really well there if I end up at Oregon.
"Sunday, I took the campus tour, saw the weight room, locker room and all the football facilities. Everything there was amazing and they told us they have even bigger plans for the future, that kind of blew me away. Overall, I had a great time on the trip and really enjoyed myself."
As for a possible commitment;
"I didn't commit, but I was very tempted," Doxey said. "Everything about the trip was great but I just want to take a few more days to think things over. I don't want to rush in to anything or make an emotional decision. I just need more time and want to take to my family about it as well.
"I still have December visits set with UNLV and Fresno State and on hand, I do think it would be good to have something to compare to Oregon. At the same time, I really like Oregon a lot and I could definitely see myself making a decision before I take those visits in December."
